I'm currently living in Florence and checking out the scene over here. Like a lot places in the world, the style and trend of the music is
dominated greatly by American influence. This being the case, you would be hard up to find many people rapping\mc-ing in english.
Even though there are some promising talents here (especially being in a city which has exceptional music universities and academies) If you want to
see a range of good hiphop artists you need to make your way to either Rome or Milan.

Chris, check out www.r-evolution.it only one catch though it's all in Italian....
Riggs, where in Italy are you headed? I can make recommendations on places to check out in florence and in Rome. The Roma hip hop parade happens over
a week usually towards the end of July, it's a mad event with heaps of local talent. I will be heading there next year myself..

"Continuo Rilasso" and "Flaminio Maphia" are the 2 Italian hip hop groups I've got into the most, but I haven't heard too much.

Haven't heard it, just a few mp3s on a mix someone sent me, the raps were cool but the hooks were suspect- Continuo Rilasso however were the best
Italian rappers I've heard - apparently they got signed to an American chicano rap label and have an album coming soon.

Dj Gruff is the shit! check melma e merda, really dark beats and lyrics. Bolognia is supposed to be really dope, very raw. i spent alot of time in La
Spezia in summer 1999 and met alot of talented djs n writers. head there in summer if you can, they have really good hip hop festivals.

There's a nice scene from what I've been listening to lately thanks to my swiss cousin. I would recommend Gente Guasta, La Crème's album L'Alba",
Turi, Stokka & Madbuddy, Vacca, Frankie Hi-NRG, Ape's album "Generazione Di Sconvolti".... however if you can only have one album from the
italian scene, I'd say go with "Mi Fist" by Club Dogo; no italian album has impressed me like this one, none!
