Maya pisses me off sometimes when she plays wack commercial music in her show or she give support to commercial stuff.
She is good in another way by playing a variety of hiphop.
It's also good that she doesnt plug everythign she does on the show.
She's got a nice voice for radio too.

but seriously, i tuned in some time ago and she was just chatting away to kid confucious. it was annoying, like i was listening to their private
conversation and all i could think about was "when is she going to play a song?!"

since there is no dissing of mass mc allowed, haha, that got you all thinking, I wont say anything about him.
But Maya does more good then harm for underground hip hop. She is in a position with the media that is completely foriegn to australian hip hop and
therefore most people just assume she is wack or a sellout. I can see her role as that of Doctor Dre and Ed Lover from "Yo Mtv Raps" in Amercia, 15
yrs ago, they were the face and opened up the way for people to follow. Im sure they copped heaps too to begin with. Did any of that make sense.
Also, what happen to FylinGenie and PhayceNawth's post counts, seem like you got restarted.

Maya does a way better job then Nicole Foot I reckon, She plays a good mix and gets good guests (anyone listen this week? ..heh)
If Mass took over it would last about 2 weeks before it got shut down for excessive rowdyness, swearing, political incorrectness and general drunken
antics ..trust me. The last radio show he had was shut down by the cops.
It would be extremely amusing though.

I tried to register again n it reset my PW with the same login name, which was good.
Not liking being a New Jack again though....makes me feel somewhat inferior.

specific? well, what ausrtralian dj\turtablist has she had on the show for 3-4 weeks? sara love has done the show with her for 3 weeks now. why
doesnt she get bones in for a month or nick toth or bedroom dj's from sydney..give them a go.. also with the show lasting 2 hours, with all her
talking, tripple j adverts and all the wack shit she plays i just managed to fill up 45 min on a tape.. this was a good week. she looks after her
friends in SYDNEY and hardly ever does phone interviews with crews interstate.. im a positive person in hip hop. i love everything about the culture
but her positivity almost makes me throw up.. who knows maybe weve come from different backgrounds but without being specific ill tell you my life has
never been THAT good....thanks for the replies boys. peace
PS..thank god i live in melb cos pbs and tripple r is all i need sometimes.

I think her manner makes the hip hop show accessible to more people than perhaps certain other hosts would. She is down to earth, easy going, and not
in the slightest elitist OR purist OR indecent so doesn't put off the more mainstream crowd. She does her best to please all the people all the
time.
I do however find her voice slightly irritating and she's not particularly articulate, nor does it seem she really has an indepth knowledge of what
she plays. Also, I think if she is not careful she will suffer from a little bit of overexposure. And I don't mean hypothermia.

How people who dislike her have actually had any contact or done business with her? Most just base it on what they hear on the radio which isn't a

Straight up she is one of the most down to earth heads I've met. Not an elitist or purist bone in her body. She does what she does for the pure love

to be fair i think does do a good job of bridgin the gap and bringing lots of the underground artists in Australia to the mainstream......and to be on
a radio station like Triple J you gotta put in one or two wack commercial songs just so you can get some audience, who knows maybe it will entice some
newbs to start listening to underground if they hear a song after there favourite commercial shit.....haha im reaching now....anyway

I double disagree! I'm not hating on her coz I do actually think she's ok, but she has awful grammar that makes me cringe, and some of her
interviews demonstrate her lack of indepth knowledge.
