isnt mass band from broadcasting in aus?

specific? well, what ausrtralian djturtablist has she had on the show for 3-4 weeks? sara love has done the show with her for 3 weeks now. why doesnt she get bones in for a month or nick toth or bedroom dj's from sydney..give them a go.. also with the show lasting 2 hours, with all her talking, tripple j adverts and all the wack shit she plays i just managed to fill up 45 min on a tape.. this was a good week. she looks after her friends in SYDNEY and hardly ever does phone interviews with crews interstate.. im a positive person in hip hop. i love everything about the culture but her positivity almost makes me throw up.. who knows maybe weve come from different backgrounds but without being specific ill tell you my life has never been THAT good....thanks for the replies boys. peace

I think her manner makes the hip hop show accessible to more people than perhaps certain other hosts would. She is down to earth, easy going, and not in the slightest elitist OR purist OR indecent so doesn't put off the more mainstream crowd. She does her best to please all the people all the time.

I do however find her voice slightly irritating and she's not particularly articulate, nor does it seem she really has an indepth knowledge of what she plays. Also, I think if she is not careful she will suffer from a little bit of overexposure. And I don't mean hypothermia.

to be fair i think does do a good job of bridgin the gap and bringing lots of the underground artists in Australia to the mainstream......and to be on a radio station like Triple J you gotta put in one or two wack commercial songs just so you can get some audience, who knows maybe it will entice some newbs to start listening to underground if they hear a song after there favourite commercial shit.....haha im reaching now....anyway

gotta admit she does well to bridge the gap between tha mainstream n the indy stuff....but it was funny to see debris hit her on the nose at the channel v thing...straight after they played the nosebleed section

if anyone has an issue with the show, send her a polite email stating your opinion, and perhaps include some ideas you think that could remedy the situation

trust me, Maya is by far one of the better choices for hosting the show..........and as for her bad articulation and grammer - just a question, but who/what in the hip-hop are we comparing her to?

with Maya onboard, the show is garruanteed a good healthy stay on-air, with a variety of music spanning the scene played (yeah I know, I hate the fake accent stuff, and the commercial gear occasionally popping up)

there are few people better suited, and I'll tell you this, they are never mentioned in these internet threads - interesting really
